Welcome to Netanya!

Netanya, often named as the “The Diamond City of the Sharon,” boasts a rich history intertwined with captivating tales and remarkable development. Nestled along Israel’s Mediterranean coast, this vibrant city has evolved from humble beginnings into a thriving urban center, captivating both locals and visitors alike with its pristine beaches, cultural attractions, and bustling city life.

Netanya is a city in the Central Neighborhood of Israel, located in the Sharon region. It is the sixth most populous city in Israel. Founded by the Binyamin group in 1929 as a settlement for members of the moshavim and orchard workers, Netanya was declared a city in 1948. It is also known as the “Capital of the Sharon” due to being the largest city in the Sharon region and as the “Diamond City” because of its developed diamond industry in the past. Situated on the coastal plain (in the Central Neighborhood) along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Netanya’s beaches are characterized by the sandstone cliffs along the city coastline.

The city is named after the philanthropist Nathan Straus and is the largest city in Israel named after an individual. Originally founded in 1928 by a group of Jewish settlers, Netanya’s growth was propelled by a unique initiative – the lottery. This innovative approach to land distribution not only facilitated the city’s expansion but also attracted a diverse array of residents, contributing to its rich tapestry of cultures and communities.

Today, Netanya stands as a testament to the benefits of foresight and planning, with a population of over 220,000 residents who enjoy a high quality of life amidst modern amenities and scenic surroundings. The city’s real estate landscape continues to evolve, with new neighborhoods springing up to accommodate the growing demand for housing, each infused with its own distinct charm and character. From the picturesque promenade overlooking the azure Mediterranean to the bustling markets teeming with culinary delights, Netanya offers an enchanting blend of history, culture, and contemporary living. Whether you’re strolling along its sun-kissed beaches, exploring its vibrant arts scene, or indulging in its diverse culinary offerings, there’s no shortage of experiences to savor in this dynamic city by the sea.

The neighborhoods of ‘Ir Yamim,’ ‘Agamim,’ and ‘Kiryat Hasharon’ are stunning and popular developments that have emerged in a unique way over the past decade, attracting thousands of families not only from Netanya but also from beyond. ‘Park Hayam’ is a newly evolving neighborhood with a wide variety of new projects. The longstanding ‘Kiryat Nordau’ is another neighborhood in Netanya undergoing a thorough facelift in recent years, including the construction of thousands of new apartments replacing old buildings from the 1960s and dozens of redevelopment projects throughout the city, which this brief article cannot cover in detail.

One of the most sought-after areas in Netanya, where our office is also located, is Nitza Boulevard – a long street situated right on the seafront. It is characterized by a population of new immigrants and a well-established Anglo-Saxon community. On Nitsa blvd, you can enjoy direct access to the beach, breathtaking views from your balcony, cafes (Kosher), shopping centers, synagogues, and a short walk from “Ha’Atzma’ut ‎square”, which is the heart of center Netanya.

Netanya offers a wide range of cultural and recreational activities, including performances, workshops, exhibitions, and various cultural events suitable for all ages – from young children and teenagers to adults and even seniors. Additionally, there are cinemas, restaurants, cafes, shopping malls, maritime sports, evening singing and dancing events, beauty and wellness centers, dance bar, IKEA, and basically everything you need.

Just about a month ago, our office marketed an amazing project called ‘Savyoni City’ comprising around 400 units by the ‘Africa Israel Development company ‘. All this was accomplished 18 months before the scheduled occupancy date. Netanya has always been considered a highly attractive city for foreign residents, with tens of thousands of expatriates from France, the UK, South Africa, Canada, and the USA finding it as their home – some as new immigrants and others as investors owning vacation apartments or rental properties. In recent months, we have witnessed a significant interest among Jews from various countries mentioned, who are keen on purchasing real estate in Israel in general, and in Netanya in particular, with many of them also registering for Aliyah programs.

Top of Form So, whether you’re seeking a place to call home or simply planning your next getaway, consider Netanya, where the past meets the present, and every corner tells a story of resilience, growth, and endless possibilities.
